Sprouts

1.5 – 2.5 Years Old*

Our tamariki in Sprouts have now had their first room transition. Here, we celebrate and explore our Sprouts’ new found confidence and ability to adapt and learn with their new kaiako. Encouraging exploration with adventure and freedom ensuring  open arms are ready for our tamariki when needed.

How do our tamariki learn?

provides opportunity...

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, the director and the actor in his own play”

– Magda Gerber

Freedom to move, freedom to explore, freedom to have adventures. This is what we practise here in sprouts. We begin to step-back a little further and let our tamariki explore their interests and ideas more independently. We observe them pushing themselves outside of their comfort zones to learn and investigate new things.

Tamariki this age are known very well for their pottering and tinkering. This we encourage and celebrate! It is a way of expressing themselves when they feel loved and safe with their carers.

Natalie

Kia Ora!

My name is Natalie. I have 20 years of teaching experience and over a decade in leadership roles, I bring a wealth of knowledge and dedication to early childhood education.

Most of my career has been based in Pukekohe and Taupō, where I have developed a strong connection to the community and a deep understanding of the needs of tamariki and their whānau.

I have a passion for planning and assessment, using these tools to support each child’s unique learning journey.

I am committed to helping children thrive by fostering their interests and empowering them to succeed in all areas of development.

Joining me at Wild and Love is my daughter Aurora, who will be two in September.

I look forward to meeting all children and whānau and being part of your community.

Hannah H

Kia Ora, I’m Hannah.

I am originally from Wellington, living there for most of my life apart from a two year stint in sunny Blenheim. Six years ago I moved to Tuakau and gained a husband and two children.

Since then we built a house in Pukekawa and added two more kiddies to our tribe – Baxter and Phoebe. We also have a couple of cows, some sheep and some chooks. We love to spend time together exploring and playing games and making lots of memories.

I’ve been a qualified early childhood teacher for 15 years, working across a range of age groups, predominantly with two year olds. I’m passionate about young tamariki’s development in the early years and supporting them to have their best start in life.

On returning from Maternity leave after having my daughter Phoebe, I wanted to find a village that could be a second home to us all so I’m happy to have found that here at Wild + Love. I can’t wait to get to know you all as we settle in and begin this new chapter.

Jaye

Kia ora!

My name is Jaye. I am from China and speak Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and singing.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management and previously worked in the finance department for many years. I am now a registered teacher after completing my Graduate Diploma in Teaching.

I believe that children learn best through trusting and responsive relationships with adults, which create a secure environment where they feel safe to explore their thoughts and ideas. I aim to foster a supportive and inclusive setting where children can follow their interests and grow at their own pace. My aspiration is to nurture children into competent and confident individuals with a strong sense of responsibility and empathy for others.

I feel honored to be part of your child’s learning journey during these important early years at Wild and Love.
